We would like to welcome you to our site where we will keep you up to date on our farm adventures, cider making and general goings on. Mike & I decided to we were spending way too much time mowing the lawn last year. so this past Fall we had a neighbor till a 60' by 152' area of the lawn.
Don't worry we aren't completely crazy only about 1/2 that is being turned into a veggie garden.
The other 1/2 we are going to turn into a patio and entertaining area. Last week we had a ridiculous amount of compost delivered. I have to admit it was much more impressive watching the truck pull up than seeing the pile finally on the ground. As a side note, one of our compost sources it turns out is also a dairy farm. So, I've now found a great source for milk for my new cheese making hobby. I'm super excited!! We had our neighbor come back and spread the compost and till it in again along with the winter rye we had put down in the Fall. While he was spreading and tilling Mike, Blue & I were making cold frames to help give some of our plants a head start. Check out our photo gallery for more looks at these and other various activities. Photos specific to this posting can also be found here.
