What a strange start to the season. Even with the cold frames we didn't want to be too aggressive with planting. It turns out we've had such incredibly warm weather that we could have planted so much more. The lettuce has been going nuts. We've already made several salads from it. We planted the lettuce, then placed the cold frame. Funny thing is that the cold frame box did not fully cover the plantings. You can definitely see the difference. Our early beet and Brussels sprouts have really started to mature. We put three kinds of potatoes in the ground three weeks ago and they are going nutz! The potatoes make the garden. It looks like we actually know how to grow stuff! A little more than a week ago we put down two kinds of corn, turnips, swiss chard, and zucchini. All have started showing sprouts in the past week. We need to keep up the momentum and keep planting!
