Hopping Hop Harvest

Our hop plants at the new house are only a year old and didn't provide much of a harvest. Good thing we planted hops at Charles' house a few years ago. We stopped by to help with some of his kitchen renovations (that look simply amazing, by the way - and yes, we mentioned he was in the middle of it in an earlier post. Much earlier. Yeah, much much earlier...) and took the opportunity to harvest some hops. He has two varieties; Chinook and Nugget. This year, both plants reached for the sky. Enough so that in the early season he had to remove over 5' of them from the roof of his garage! The Chinook variety had an amazing year! So be sure to keep an eye out for a brew with this varietal coming to a tap near you. Who are we kidding.... it's going on tap in our garage, but anyone is welcome to stop by and grab a drink with us or a growler to go.
